Perot Systems is currently looking for a Mainframe Programmer Analyst to join the Insurance Operations team in Omaha, NE
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares technical specifications and initiates the technical specification walkthrough. Participates in functional walkthroughs. Codes and tests programs and JCL. Follows internal Programming Guidelines and Standards.
Assists in the design and test of program logic and turnover of programs for elevation.
Prepares program and system documentation. Participates and provides recommendations in Program Code Reviews.
Oversees the project to make sure programs as well as the logical interfaces between related programs are thoroughly tested.
Performs program maintenance including program analysis, changes and testing. Provides guidance and information to programmers.
Responsible for the creation of file requirements and processing specifications.
Responsible for on-call rotation.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 7 years experience in:
COBOL
CICS
MVS JCL
Analysis
Technical Spec writing
VSAM
Ability to multitask and to communicate effectively.
1-3 years of experience with Equity Indexed Annuity (EIA) processing.
Desired Skills:
At least one year of insurance industry experience with life and annuity products.
LOMA education or designation
Able to communicate with all levels of an organization
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical school or college education preferred.
LOMA designation or education is desired but not required. Be willing to pursue educational opportunities to gain additional knowledge. Completion of LOMA classes 1 and 2 desired
